I live on the second floor of a house where I rent a room. The landlord has a wireless network but it's too weak to load any web pages. I have wireless built-in my laptop. What should I do to get a stronger signal? How can I get a stronger wireless signal?
You could buy an ';extender'; which plugs into a wall outlet. This device picks up the distant signal and extends it much further into a new area (your second floor room/area).

They're a bit expensive ($80-$90) but they work. It's better than buying your ISP service plus a router to set up your own wireless network. How can I get a stronger wireless signal?
Does the landlord know you use his service? If so ask him to locate the router centerally. Also, the higher you put it the better. Try to be sure there's nothing around it to block the signal transmission. Your router should easily transmit throughout the house. Be sure there's no other issues with the computer itself.
