With XP go to ';My network places%26gt;Entire Network (On the side)'; You will see all of the work groups and can check each one for computers that are not yours (There may only be one, if all of your computers use the same workgroup).
You can also change your WEP (or disabling it entirely and using Ethernet). Wireless is not a good way to connect to the Internet if you want good performance Ethernet (cable) is much better. If you want to use it at really, really fast speed you should connect the modem directly into your computers Ethernet (a crossover cable is no necessary with a modem)
Try network stumbler
It will tell you the signal strength, line noise, signal to noise ratio (SNR) and who is on the line (their code name)

if u're using xp, go to ';my network places'; then click ';view work group computer';. It will display your pc name %26amp; others (can be ur fren's,family or strangers)These are the ppl who connects to ur internet..
dont cut the person off. just tell them to please use less bandwidth.
