How to get a wireless connection on a factory-state computer?

Okay, so recently I wiped my computer with a recovery cd. I can't get a wireless connection on my computer! The wireless router is already installed on another computer, it's a linksys WRT54GX. The 'LAN or High-Speed Internet' option shows up, but the wireless connection doesn't show up at all. Help! How to get a wireless connection on a factory-state computer?
Assuming Windows-

Go to your device manager (start %26gt; control panel %26gt; system %26gt; device manager) and expand the 'network adapters' sub menu. - If you see anything that says 'wireless' there, right-click it and make sure that it is enabled (if it says 'disable', it's good, if it says 'enable', click it). If you don't see it there then the device is either missing or the device driver is missing and needs to be reinstalled.

If it is a laptop, if equipped make sure that your wireless NIC switch is on.

Then scan for networks.

What is the brand of the computer? And the model. As soon as you answer these questions, you can go to the manufacturers website, and within, you will find a sub page named support. You can then find all of your computer's downloads once you enter your model number. You want the wireless driver, or wireless software driver.

For example, if i had a dell, I would go to dell.com and on the right hand side click on support, services, and drivers.... then id search for the model number of my computer.
