How to allow only selected systems to connect to my wifi network?

Myself and our neighbor share our internet connection and he knows our network password. I suspect that he has also shared our password with some of his friends which I want to restrict. I was wondering is there a way to allow only selected laptops to get connected to our network and restrict others even if they have our network password? Is there a way to give access based on the computer name? I use a netgear wireless router. Thanks in advance. How to allow only selected systems to connect to my wifi network?
Yes, its called mac address filtering. If you go to the settings of your wireless router, there will be a section on MAC address filtering. Sorry I can't tell you much, but as long as you know this much, you should be fine, just make sure to figure out your and your neighbors mac addresses.

Probably not. Try changing the password, unless you are an advanced network specialist.
i guess, some wifi tool may be able to do that, but why u want to do it ?
check out the information on your wireless router, usually you can either set up a MAC address filter, so it will only allow specific computers to log on based on the MAC address of each network card, or you could even just limit the number of addresses the router can give out and then manually give each PC a static address and turn off the option to broadcast the network name.
Jaded and Igor gave you the basics. use the info they gave you and read the netgear manual to see how to filter access by mac address
