My xbox is located upstairs from my computer, and a cord to connect the two would have to measure around 200ft. My friend told me I can buy a wireless router that connects to the modem and then have a short ethernet cable from the router to the xbox. Is this actually possible/is there any other way?How can I get wireless xbox live connection without spending money on an adapter?
200 ft cable wont work....
The router on the other hand will work with a simple ethernet cable.
If you had a laptop with wireless, you could manually bridge your Wireless and LAN connection on the laptop, and plugging in an ethernet cable from the laptop to the xbox. This way your laptop will share an internet connection with the 360. It's actually how mines is setup as well.How can I get wireless xbox live connection without spending money on an adapter?
i have never heard of that but it probably won't work. if you have a laptop with wifi then you can just connect a ethernet cable to your xbox and the other side to your laptop.
There's currently no real way to get a wireless connection for the Xbox 360 without a wireless adapter. However, the cheapest way to do this is by buying the Original Xbox wireless adapter, which works flawlessly with the 360. Here's a link to it.
