How to install a wireless internet card or usb device with only a desktop?

I don't have a home phone or cable, but I want to have internet access using a wireless card or other device I can just plug into my computer, install and fly.How to install a wireless internet card or usb device with only a desktop?
You can easily install a wireless card to your computer. You'll also need to install the drivers for it, but that should be provided on a CD with the card when you buy it and it's an easy install.

But a wireless card by itself will not give you internet access.

It will only give you the ability to connect to a wireless network and the wireless network that you connect to has to have internet access.

To connect to a wireless network, you have to either create your own at home, or use it somewhere where there is free wireless internet access like at a school or library. But since this is for a desktop, you can't move it around. To create your own wireless network, you still have to buy an internet subscription from an ISP to your house and attach a wireless router to create the wireless network.

The only other option is to get a broadband card. You can get a USB one for desktops. You still have to pay for broadband internet service, but you might already have that with your cell phone. How to install a wireless internet card or usb device with only a desktop?
You have two options:

1 - Install a wireless network interface device either internally or via usb and find an unsecured network near you if available that you connect with. That's okay for general web browsing but you will want to use discretion when doing personal activities such as banking, bill paying, etc as you are more vulnerable to third party intrusion

2 - Get a cellular wifi connection from your cellular network provider and install the device. They are available for USB connection.

Enjoy!
